There are so many pathways to learning. 

While standardized tests often focus only on linguistic or mathematical abilities, educational research has widened our understanding of intelligence, and we now know that words and numbers are only two of the gateways to imagination, creativity and knowledge. How else can we access understanding, what else can spur us on and inspire us? Experiences often start in the classroom but move beyond those physical walls.

At AIS, we understand the power of pictures, music, physical and social experiences, exposure to nature.  When we reflect on those experiences, we refract them through yet another lens, and our appreciation grows and deepens. The journey is both like a stone skipped into the water, making ever-widening circles with time; and like a spiral that journeys away and back to its starting point again and again, as the past, present and future continue to enrich each other, and teach us about the world and about ourselves.
