Sara Jane Shapira Scholarship
The Sara Jane Shapira Scholarship is a vital initiative at the Walworth Barbour American International School (WBAIS), both on the Even Yehuda and Jerusalem campuses, aimed at providing high-quality education to deserving students from local ethnic minority backgrounds. By supporting this scholarship, donors actively promote the international nature of, and academic achievement within the WBAIS community, empowering students to contribute meaningfully both locally and globally.

GAIA
The GAIA Project at WBAIS is a student-led environmental research initiative that empowers middle and high school students from diverse backgrounds to address local environmental concerns. Guided by mentors, students collaborate to identify issues, conduct multi-year scientific research, engage with their communities, and develop sustainable solutions. Following the three stages of Awareness, Investigation, and Action, GAIA emphasizes data collection, analysis, and sharing findings within a local and international network to create meaningful, long-term environmental impact.

Model United Nations
The Model United Nations program at WBAIS, one of the school’s Hallmark Programs, offers opportunities for students to travel globally and participate in conferences. Additionally, WBAIS hosts the annual TIMEMUN event, which brings over 500 participants from Israel and Europe. Through researching, debating, and drafting policy papers, students engage deeply with global politics, hone their academic and leadership skills, and develop empathy and cultural awareness by collaborating with peers from diverse backgrounds to address pressing global issues.

AIS Robotics
WBAIS features Robotics teams across all school divisions, fostering creativity, collaboration, and technical skills. Elementary students engage in basic programming through the First Lego Robotics League, while Middle and High School teams compete in FIRST Robotics competitions by building innovative robots. Through research, trial and error, and countless hours of dedication from students and faculty, the program develops critical thinking and enriches the school community, showcasing the value of persistence and innovation.

AIS Athletics
At AIS, athletics is an essential part of the student experience, offering every learner the opportunity to participate, develop skills, and grow through teamwork and dedication. Supporting our program helps ensure access to quality coaching, proper equipment, and meaningful opportunities to compete and learn. Your contribution strengthens our teams and empowers students to build confidence, resilience, and lasting connections on and off the field.

Area of Greatest Need
Giving to the Area of Greatest Need allows AIS to respond quickly and effectively to the evolving priorities of our school community. Support in this area provides flexibility to strengthen academic programs, enhance student services, and invest in opportunities that elevate the overall learning experience. Your contribution ensures that AIS can meet emerging challenges, pursue new initiatives, and provide the resources needed to help every student thrive.
