Tuition Policy

The majority of the school’s operating budget is generated by tuition. Tuition and fees are adjusted each May or at least three months before the beginning of the school calendar year to compensate for changes in school program, inflation and currency changes. The Board, upon recommendation of the Finance Committee and the Head of School, set all fees annually.

Tuition and Fees

  1. Tuition
Tuition, registration fee and building levy are billed on a family basis and must be paid on an annual basis (all school tuition from the start date until the end of the academic year) by September 30th. Late payment can be authorized only by the Head of School. Students can only remain in school without payment after September 30th, if a payment plan has been approved by the Head of School.
  2. Registration
For new students, the School Board will establish a one-time registration fee annually. This is a per student assessment in addition to tuition. Registration documents must be accompanied by a photocopy of the student’s Israeli Identification Card or passport showing name, picture, date of birth, and, if possible, date of entry into Israel. These photocopies are submitted to the Israel Ministry of Education as part of WBAIS’ annual subsidy request.
  3. Building Levy
A building levy is charged annually in order to replenish the school's building fund.
  4. Deposit
A deposit (advance registration fee) to be determined annually by the School Board is required with each new application and re-registration. This will be deducted from tuition.

Payment Methods and Penalties

  • Payment: Tuition and fees are due annually on September 30th and may be paid in full by bank transfer, check, or credit card.
  • Installment payments: Alternate tuition payments that are requested, arranged, and approved prior to September 30th must be approved by the Head of School.
  • All checks must be in US Dollars or New Israeli Shekels linked to the dollar exchange rate on the date of the payment. Adjustments for the final payment will be calculated by the Business Office based on the rate at the date of the payment.
  • No official records will be issued if any fees remain outstanding.
  • No individual may enroll the following year without having paid full fees from the previous year.

Refunds

No refunds or credits will be given, regardless of the circumstances, for the year for which there is any fractional attendance by a student who is withdrawn for any reason. This includes not only tuition, but also building levy, registration fee, and bus fee.

  • If a student has been registered and does not enter school at all, the advance registration fee will be refunded, less an amount to be determined annually by the Board.
  • Late arrivals: Students enrolling late will be charged at a daily rate prorated for the days attended.
  • Financial Assistance: Financial assistance is available annually according to the guideline in the Financial Assistance policy.

Exceptions to the refund policy may be approved by the Head of School. In this case only tuition fees can be partly refunded, in no case the building levy, bus fees or registration fees are refunded.

Tuition Reduction for Multiple Children

WBAIS does not offer tuition discounts for families with multiple children. Individual requests should be directed to the Financial Assistance Committee.

Transportation

WBAIS Transportation is available to students who live in 14 different cities and towns throughout the region. Fees vary depending on location. Click on the bus icon closest to your place of residence to view provisional annual pricing.

Late Bus Service

Late Bus I: This service is available for elementary school students registered as bus riders and who participate in after school activities. Two central bus stops are offered: one in Herzliya Pituach and one in Tel Aviv. Parents are required to be at the bus stop for at least five minutes prior to arrival time. No student will be allowed to disembark without a parent/responsible adult present. Registration to ride this vehicle should be made on the application form for after school activities.

Late Bus II - Because this bus departs later and is not supervised, and does not provide door-to-door service, it is available only to grades 6-12. However, younger siblings may ride the bus with their older brothers/sisters at the same time.

Late Bus Service fee: 1,200 NIS (per semester).
